Parachilna Serie C - pendant light inspired by paper proportions

The Serie C pendant light by Parachilna, designed by Max Milà Serra, is a refined exploration of functional lighting inspired by the proportions of C-format paper. The pendant light features a delicate folded paper diffuser that evokes the familiar form of an envelope, softly anchored to a high-performance extruded aluminium heatsink.

The fixture delivers a layered lighting experience, combining warm ambient illumination with a focused 3000K spotlight. One of its suspension points incorporates a discreet magnetic mechanism, allowing the luminaire to pivot and direct the beam with subtle precision. Available in medium and large sizes in a pristine white finish, its minimalist silhouette is perfectly suited for modern architectural contexts, from living rooms to offices or commercial spaces. Whether suspended as a singular focus above a boardroom table or arranged in a rhythmic installation within a gallery setting, the Serie C serves as a forward-thinking lighting solution.

Though based in Barcelona, Parachilna’s origins actually stretch all the way to its namesake, a desert ghost town in Australia. A random stop there years ago inspired Alfredo Valero and Roman Riera to eventually create a luxury lighting company dedicated to enduring craftsmanship, aided by European metalsmiths, glass blowers, ceramicists and other skilled artisans. Collaborating with such notable modern designers as Jaime Hayon and Neri & Hu, partner Alfredo explains Parachilna’s purposeful process. “We don’t use industrial techniques,” he says. “Everything revolves craftsmanship, which means that there is a lot of work, from prototyping to finishing. When we say, ‘We don’t like it,’ we start all over again.”
