The Lens is a handcrafted glass lighting piece, made using a refined pressed-glass technique. Each element highlights the material’s authentic character – tiny bubbles, non-melts, and subtle irregularities are not flaws but unique marks of this glassmaking process.
Light refraction, a core principle of optics, is transformed in the Lens design into a poetic interplay of illumination. Two glass lenses elegantly encase the internal light source, layering tones to create a monumental symphony of light.
Mounted on a rectangular canopy, the composition is complemented by the technical pendant Beam, available in brushed gold or anthracite finishes. Beam directs light precisely where it is needed, enhancing both the functionality and versatility of the installation.

Meet the designer
Václav Mlynář & Jakub Pollág
Václav Mlynář and Jakub Pollág are leading figures among a new generation of Czech designers with international experience. Both graduated from Prague’s UMPRUM and the Royal College of Art in London. In 2011, they co-founded Studio deFORM, where they collaborated until 2020, producing some of Bomma's most successful lighting collections. Since 2017, Václav has taken on the role of Creative Director at Bomma, steering its creative vision, while Jakub now heads his own independent design studio. Their work reflects a blend of Czech craftsmanship and global design influences.
